Garage renovation, from small fixes to full conversions
This is the widest category on the site, because garage renovation covers a wide range of problems — a leak that needs chasing down, a wall that needs reinforcing before you can store anything on it, or a full plan to turn the garage into livable space.
We’ve split it into three groups below: leaks and moisture (the problems you fix before anything else), structure and framing (the work that makes a bigger project possible), and conversions (the actual remodel — additions, apartments, master suites, and what they cost).
Leaks & moisture
Fix these before you drywall, insulate, or build anything on top of them — moisture problems only get more expensive to trace once they’re covered up.
Structure & framing
The load-bearing side of garage work — reinforcing what’s there, adding bays, and repairing block or concrete before anything gets built on top.
Conversions & additions
The bigger projects — turning a garage into living space, adding a level, or changing how it connects to the rest of the house.
Converting the garage door opening too? Sealing and framing the door is usually the first physical step in any conversion project.
